Improve the Performance of Your Car

There are things you can do to improve the performance of your car, make it safer and prevent auto accidents and resulting insurance claims. The better your car operates as you are traveling down the southern California highway, the less likely you may experience stalls, poor tire traction, overheating, skipping and other problems that may cause you to have an accident. Putting forth the effort to keep your car in top performing condition may save money in the long term, as you may experience less costly engine and transmission trouble, and avoid accidents that may drive your auto insurance rates up.

It is important to keep your tire pressure at optimum levels and check and change your oil and other fluids regularly. Keeping your car clean of grease and dust as well as trash and clutter in the trunk will reduce weight and help it run better. It may be wise to use synthetic oil as it cleans and lubricates the engine. Putting additives in your coolant may keep the temperature down while preventing rust and corrosion. It is important to keep clean air filters in your car, and maintain spark plugs and wiring to eliminate false starts.

It is equally important to have the right auto insurance to provide financial protection in the event of an accident. Coverage options may include bodily injury and property damage liability, personal injury protection, collision, comprehensive and uninsured motorist coverage. You may want to talk to your agent to make sure you have the coverage you need.
